După ce a fost operat la genunchi la Spitalul Militar și apoi internat la Institutul Inimii din Cluj-Napoca, actorul a fost transportat marți seara cu un avion SMURD, într-o operațiune de urgență.
Reprezentanții Inspectoratului General de Aviație (IGAv) au confirmat că avionul SMURD nr. 1123 a executat o misiune secundară pentru transferul lui Florin Piersic de la Cluj-Napoca la București.

Această misiune a avut loc în timpul exercițiului NATO „Vigorous Warrior 2024” desfășurat în Ungaria, unde avionul SMURD se afla inițial. Aeronava a decolat din Baza Aeriană Pápa din Ungaria și s-a deplasat către Cluj-Napoca pentru a prelua pacientul.
Actorul în vârstă de 88 de ani a fost internat inițial la Institutul Inimii din Cluj-Napoca, unde a fost supus unei intervenții chirurgicale la genunchiul său afectat.
Ulterior, decizia de a-l transfera la Institutul „Matei Balș” din București a fost luată după ce medicii au constatat că infecția s-a răspândit în corpul său, afectând și inima.

Operația la genunchi a fost efectuată în urma unui episod medical în timpul unui spectacol la Cluj-Napoca, unde actorul s-a simțit rău și a fost preluat de medici.
Starea sa de sănătate este stabilă, iar acesta se află sub supraveghere medicală pentru recuperare.
