Recent, Grecia a devenit un loc de îngrijorare pentru mulți turiști, după ce mai multe incidente tragice au avut loc pe insulele sale.
Un turist din Olanda, dispărut anterior, a fost găsit mort sâmbătă dimineața pe insula Samos, în estul Greciei, conform presei locale.
Acest incident se adaugă altora recente, în care turiști aflați pe insulele grecești fie s-au pierdut, fie și-au pierdut viața în timpul excursiilor, în condiții de caniculă.
Tragedii pe insulele Samos și Symi
Insula Samos, situată în apropierea coastelor turcești, a fost scena unei descoperiri tragice. Cu ajutorul unei drone operată de pompieri, trupul unui turist olandez de 74 de ani a fost descoperit într-o râpă, la aproximativ 300 de metri de locul unde fusese văzut ultima dată. Bărbatul se deplasa cu dificultate în căldura sufocantă.
Pe insula Symi, Michael Mosley, un celebru prezentator TV și autor britanic, a fost găsit decedat. Conform unui medic legist, Mosley a murit după ce s-a aventurat într-o excursie pe un teren accidentat și stâncos.
Trupul său a fost descoperit duminica trecută, dar se crede că a murit cu câteva zile înainte.
Alte dispariții pe insulele grecești
Autoritățile elene sunt în căutarea a patru persoane dispărute în ultimele zile:
- Pe insula Sikinos, două turiste franceze, în vârstă de 73 și 64 de ani, au fost date dispărute după ce au plecat de la hotelurile lor pentru a se întâlni.
- Pe insula Mathraki, un turist american de 70 de ani a fost dat dispărut. Gazda sa l-a văzut ultima dată într-o cafenea, în compania a două turiste care ulterior au părăsit insula.
- Pe insula Amorgos, autoritățile continuă căutările pentru Albert Calibet, un fost adjunct al șerifului din comitatul Los Angeles, dispărut de marți după ce a plecat într-o excursie pe cont propriu.
Măsuri de urgență adoptate de autorități
În fața acestei situații extreme, autoritățile din Grecia au adoptat măsuri radicale pentru a proteja atât locuitorii, cât și turiștii:
- Activitățile școlare au fost suspendate.
- Ministerul Culturii a închis accesul publicului la Acropole și alte situri arheologice importante.
- Primăria din Atena a instalat puncte de răcire și voluntarii Crucii Roșii au distribuit mii de sticle de apă gratuită.
Pe insula Symi, primarul Eleftherios Papakalodoukas a recunoscut dificultățile de întreținere ale traseelor turistice și a solicitat mai multe măsuri de siguranță, cum ar fi instalarea de camere de supraveghere și iluminarea potecilor.
„Aș vrea să văd mai multe camere de supraveghere și iluminarea acestor trasee. Dacă există o lecție care trebuie învățată din tragedia morții lui Mosley, aceasta este că potecile trebuie să fie mai bine îngrijite, astfel încât oamenii să nu se piardă.”, a declarat primarul.
